Chorizo & Chicken

Our 3rd dinner post!! I hope everyone is enjoying this blog, I know we don't have many followers here yet, but that's okay, I'm very happy we do have some great followers, and I'd like to say thank you to all six of you! haha!
I've realized that a lot of the food we make looks similar: Red sauces, meat, etc... but I promise they are all very different! And to my future and current vegetarian followers, I promise there will be some vegetarian dishes, if you stick around!
So anyway, back to this dinner, we had my sister and brother-in law come over and bring their friend! It was very fun, and we even had cupcakes for dessert!!

My mom got these super cute champagne coupes, which I'm jealous of! Aren't they adorable?!

I was a little worried because it was too soupy, and in the picture it wasn't but it ended up being fine!

I was in charge of the main dish, and Cyrous made the potatoes which had duck fat, I know, I know it sounds strange but they were delicious!!

Sorry for the blurriness, but this is the finished product!

My sister took this, haha, obviously I liked it!
 And so did everyone else!
Tons of cupcake pictures, get ready! They are from a very good place called Kara's Cupcakes! YUM!

Cool candle picture I took after dinner!
Thanks for visiting!

French Dish

Here's our second dish! we made Coq au Vin, and all I can say is, YUM! I think this is the best thing we've ever made!! I will defiantly make this again, but not anytime soon because it's very time consuming and buttery/rich; not something one should be eating too much of! haha So here are the pictures of the feast!

A helpful trick that was in the book: put shallots in boiling water for 5 mins. then drain and they are much easier to peel!

Please excuse our strange attire, I look a little haggard! hha

 Some champagne...French of course!

Browned chicken, not cooked all the way yet!

The sauce thickened with flour and butter!
